To disable Fast Boot in Windows, follow these steps:
Open Control Panel:
- Press
Windows + X
and select Power Options from the menu. - If you're using Windows 11 or 10, you can also type Control Panel in the Start menu and open it.
- Press
Navigate to Power Options:
- In Control Panel, click on Hardware and Sound.
- Under Power Options, click on Choose what the power buttons do on the left-hand side.
Change Settings That Are Currently Unavailable:
- At the top of this window, click the option that says Change settings that are currently unavailable (you may need administrator access to do this).
Disable Fast Boot:
- Scroll down to the Shutdown settings section.
- Uncheck the box next to Turn on fast startup (recommended).
Save Changes:
- Click Save changes to apply the new settings.
