How to Reseat Your GPU: A Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Power down your computer and unplug it from the outlet. Safety first!
Step 2: Remove the front panel of your case to access the internal components.
Step 3: Disconnect the power cables from your GPU to ensure no power is running through it.
Step 4: Unscrew the GPU from the mounting plate on the case.
Step 5: Use a long screwdriver to reach the latch securing the GPU in the PCIe slot.
Step 6: Gently unlatch the GPU by pressing the latch.
Step 7: Carefully remove the GPU, making sure to pull it out straight without any angled movements to avoid damaging the connectors.
Now, let’s reinstall the GPU:
Step 8: Align the GPU with the PCIe slot and the mounting plate on the case.
Step 9: Firmly press the GPU into the slot until you hear a click, indicating it’s securely latched.
Step 10: Screw the GPU back into the mounting plate to secure it in place.
Step 11: Reconnect the power cables to your GPU.
Step 12: Reattach the front panel to your case.
Step 13: Plug your computer back in and power it on.
